Arrival of Snow

Yesterday I awakened to silence.
Quiet and still.
My breath held its own to blend in.
Quiet and still.
The frosted pane revealed not a thing.
As my finger etched a narrow line.
And the chill ran through me.
Then a stripe of white.
Possibly a clue.
Arrival of
Snow.
Today I was rousted from dreams
Soon to forget
And the wrestling of darkness
Soon to forget.
Light so bright bore down on the dawn.
Glistening so like diamonds falling from
Branches slouching, dripping with tears
Shimmering, crying, creating more puddles.
Departure of
Snow
